I was trying to setup a WNR3500Lv2 running FT 2020.5 to work as MultiWAN, with 2 WANS: 1 wired (WAN) and 1 Wireless (WAN2). And I wanted to connect wireless clients to it.

Steps:
  1. Define a vlan 3 bridged to WAN2 (no tagged ports)
  2. Set 2 WANs: Check connections every minute, WAN (the original wired WAN) as DHCP, WAN2 (eth1) as Wireless Client
  3. After reset, the WAN is UP, WAN2 goes UP within a minute
  4. Unplug WAN, and wait for the connection to switch. It does
  5. An issue...

Did a fresh install with NVRAM clear of FreshTomato 2020:05 on Asus AC56R, which has 2 radios - 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.

After install, renamed the default two SSID for the 2 radios created by FreshTomato, setup WPA-2 security and tested both of them by connecting Windows, iOS and Android clients to both SSIDs. Work just fine.

Next, created a new bridge br1 under Basic-Network with a different IP range, and created 2 new virtual SSIDs under Advanced-Virtual Wireless, one for each radio. Both new...

Hello,

I have been trying to upgrade my R6300v2 to FreshTomato but I cant pass through the uploading of initial files.

I am always getting an error saying Incorrect CHK file. I tried several versions (months, 2020.3, 2020.5, 2020.6) already but it wont complete.

No problem in upgrading or downgrading the FW of R6300v2 which I downloaded from Netgear. Resetting to factory settings is also not a problem.

What am I doing wrong? Your help is much appreciated.

I'm trying to setup my router with Freshtomato and a constant connection with NordVPN (this part seems to work already). Now I also want to add a Pi-Hole to my setup (complete with Unbound and Hyperlocal) to use as DNS-server and intranet-wide ad-blocker.

While trying to install the pi-hole software on my Raspi, I encountered the problem:
"DNS resolution not availlable" or "DNS resolution currently unavaillable". One forum thread concerning DD-WRT said that...

UPDATE!! - JUST USE THE NEW CustomCFE

Because Vortex stopped further development of firmware for EA6900 I came up with a solution to flash official RT-AC68U or ASUS Merlin for RT-AC68U on the Linksys EA6900.

This also works exactly the same for the Linksys EA6700. I have tested it with both routers.

Download the current Asus Firmware for the RT-AC68U from the ASUS support...

How to make iptables persistent?

Hi,

I have started to experiment with iptables and found out that they reset after router reboots.
Is there a way to make it persistent?

Using Admin> Scripts> firewall, makes any difference? I tried to use that but it didn't work? Are their any syntax that must be used while using scripts option?

At the moment I want to use below config and want it to stay even after router reboots.

Code:
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i br0 -p udp ! --source 192.168.0.106 ! --destination 192.168.0.106...

Hi,

On a Linksys E2500v3 router newly flashed with FreshTomato 2020.4, I get this note at the bottom of the admin->config page.

The NVRAM free space is very low. It is strongly recommended to erase all data in NVRAM memory, and reconfigure the router manually in order to clean up all unused and obsolete entries.

Wireless country regulations and maximum allowed transmit power

$

Router: FreshTomato 2020.2 on Netgear R7000

I understand that Wireless 2.4 GHz transmit power and frequency ranges have different regulations depending on country / region. I also know that there is a lot of discussion about this, but I haven't found any conclusive answer.

For example (from the database):

country FI: DFS-ETSI
(2402 - 2482 @ 40), (20)

country US: DFS-FCC
(2402 - 2472 @ 40), (30)

I assume this means that in Finland (FI) the maximum allowed...
